Eljambo Furniture is seeking a skilled and reliable Furniture Carpenter / Artisan to join our team in Kisii and Nakuru. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing, assembling, finishing, repairing, and installing quality furniture and fittings in accordance with customer requirements and Eljambo Furniture's quality standards.
We are looking for an individual with strong practical skills, attention to detail, a good understanding of furniture construction, and a commitment to delivering neat, durable, and professionally finished work.
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and finish furniture components accurately.
- Construct and install furniture and fittings according to designs, measurements, and specifications.
- Work with materials such as timber, plywood, MDF, boards, laminates, and related furniture materials.
- Carry out furniture repairs, adjustments, modifications, and finishing work where required.
- Operate and maintain carpentry and furniture-making tools safely and correctly.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, strength, and proper finishing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Work closely with customers, supervisors, designers, and other team members to achieve project requirements.
- Complete assigned work within agreed timelines while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Proven experience in furniture making, carpentry, joinery, or furniture fittings.
- Strong practical knowledge of furniture construction and finishing.
- Ability to interpret measurements, drawings, sketches, and furniture designs.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good time management and reliability.
- Knowledge of modern furniture-making techniques and materials is an added advantage.
- A portfolio or examples of previous furniture work will be an advantage.
